My first contact upon arriving was the young lady at the front desk checking in. What a cheerful and friendly person made us feel most welcome. Very good at what she does and so were the staff in the restaurant and others. The main building is beautiful; loved the natural setting where it is located. It was so peaceful and quiet .
The hotel staff was very accommodating and helpful. The food was delicious, and we loved the espresso machine in the room!
We love the personal efforts by each of the employees to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Love that our dog can stay with us. The location is so very peaceful and pretty. The food is very tasty and displayed with expertise.
We were quite pleased with our room. It was a bigger room than the normal two queen bedroom. We had lots of room for all of our stuff. The housekeeping staff did a great job. It had a good sized bathroom with tons of counter space for make-up bags, toothbrushes, etc. The furniture was good quality and for us the pillows weren't way too big and fluffy. There was a good sized window, so it was easy to get a lot of fresh mountain air, but they had good room darkening drapes that kept the light out. We have paid more for rooms that were smaller and not nearly as nice. It was definately worth the money we paid.
For the size of the room, it would have been nice if there had been a small microwave and a mini fridge. Would not recommend this place to a family with children as there is not much for them to do.
we got there at 21.00 and the restaurant was closes and we did not have anything to eat,,,,,that was the only down side of this hotel
The room was clean and the lodge was lovely. Breakfast was good.
We had booked this hotel to stay enroute to Vancouver from Calgary. Due to the lateness of our flights we were trying to stay in Golden. This hotel came up on Booked.net as being in Golden. It is actually 45mins. west of Golden.
The Lodge is, apparently open during the summer for the first time as it has always been a winter heli-ski facility. The rooms are attractively decorated and very clean and look fairly newly re-done. The beds are very comfortable. A served continental breakfast of yogourt, fruit, muffin, juice, coffee and make your own toast is included in the room price. Real and delicious gelato is available. Is in a beautiful Rocky Mountain location half way or so between Revelstoke and Golden, BC.
Services are spotty eg,no hand soap in our room as they were "all out". The hot tub doesn't work. I was told that because of the remoteness of the lodge, the electrical system cannot handle inroom clocks or hairdryers, so beware if you require these items. Dinner menu is expensive and short, although food is fairly tasty. Lastly, it was not always easy to find a staff person, either by phone or by looking in the main building. Once the "kinks" have been fixed, this could be a place that I would love to return.
location beautiful, rooms large and comfortable, lodge area warm and inviting. Food was very good
while presenting itself as a gourmet restaurant, wait staff did not support the quality expected for the prices paid. espresso was ice cold by the time my desert arrived. When I asked for a new, hot one, it did not arrive until about 10-12 minutes after dessert. wait staff seemed stunned that I expressed dissatisfaction. In fact, wait staff was slow about a number of things, including not bringing our wine when dinner arrived, but at least 10 minutes later, even after a prompt. Considering it is the only show in town as far as choices for eating, I was disappointed.
Rooms were clean and confortable
There was no access to coffee or breakfast before 8:00 A.M.
The staff were very friendly, helpful and very sccomidating. There should be coffee makers in room as well as hair driers.
The rooms were very pleasant; the dining service very good, the food an drinks excellent and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We were particularly impressed with the chef who produced an excellent vegetarian dish (not on the regular menu) for one of us.
This is not a complaint. But I think it would be nice if a coffee/tea pot was provided in the rooms.
Good proper food in restaurant.
Helpful staff and willingness to assist at all times.
Located off the Trans Canada Highway between Revelstoke and Golden. Very clean and spacious rooms, excellent restaurant for dinner.
NIce location near Rogers Pass just off the Trans Canada highway. A fantasic view of the mountains from the lawn chairs just off the balcony where you can enjoy a drink and watch the sun set. The dinig room was serving a buffet for dinner as it was near the end of the summer season. The food was very good and sitting out on the balcony just added to the enjoyment. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were large with a view of the mountains as well.
This is not a complaint but be aware that the highway is close to the lodge. However the rooms do face away from the road and you cannot really hear the vehicles even with the windows open.
